Your Dad and I lay in bed the other night with me telling about our day. Recounting the myriad of cool and amazing things you are doing, learning and remembering. There are so many "ah-ha" moments when I see something click in you as you really grasp what I'm conveying to you. All it takes is someone to show you something once and you've pretty much got it down. Daddy said I needed to put these little stories down so we would never forget and already I'm afraid I'm missing one or two, but here goes:
1. You wearing hard sandals yesterday, trying to shake them off as you stood. I point to my feet and sandals and explain them and then you look at your foot, stomp it down and get a good stance, then look up at me and seem to be like, "okay, let's go then".
2. You have been playing with/chewing on a little hairbrush for some time but the other day was the first time I showed you on my hair what to do with it. So we moved on to other toys. Sometime in the afternoon you came back to it, pick it up and come over to me, raising it up, so I bend down and you brush my bangs. So then I show you to do yours in the mirror. There was that "ah-ha" in you and you do it every time you pick it up now.
3. Throwing. Not only did we teach you that in one afternoon but it was amazing to catch you picking it up with your left, switching it to your right, then throwing.
4. There are kitties in your books and in magazines. Well now that I've pointed them out to you, you know them every time.
5. You do a good job trying to blow your pinwheel.
6. You can do "fffff" for fan when you point to it.
7. Today you took books off the bookcase, which is a no, and I gave you a look, you smiled, and then stretched and put it back ;)
8. You can kinda use a spoon with your hummus.
9. You like to feed me.
You bend down or slide onto your stomach to get a look under things when a toy goes missing or the kitty hides under the bed.
10. When I open the laundry room you come fast as can be, and love to pull out the clothes from the washer as I put them in the dryer and you help me close the door. But the real fun is I leave the closet open and you get out the swifer, the broom and mop and imitate Mommy.
11. You love to be chased or do the chasing with Momma crawling in the ground with you.
12. You precisely press the on/off button of the tv and play station to turn them on and off, no other button, just those with your little pointer finger.
13. You know which remote operates your beloved fan and that you can change all sorts of things with it.
